The Waterford Crystal Factory
Waterford Crystal Factory, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland
In 2009 the Waterford Crystal Factory closed due to bankruptcy. After several difficulties and takeovers, it re-emerged later that year and is now home to a manufacturing facility that melts over 750 tons of crystal a year, offering visitors the opportunity to take tours of its factory as well as view some museum pieces.
Most Waterford crystal is now produced outside Ireland in countries such as Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. It is only specialty pieces that are made in Ireland.

We were offered the chance to stand and touch one of its museum pieces.
I was too scared.
Sharon was not.
Travel query: Why, you ask, did I not lighten the below picture of Sharon ?
Answer: Because it was taken on her camera.
While she was evidently very happy to share her pictures with me, she did however, code them “read-only” not allowing for any changes.
Hmmm? I wonder what she thought I would do with them? :D
