Reflections on Ireland
Ireland is an incredible country.
It is just a tiny little island in the North Atlantic yet offers so, so, so much. Its landscape, history and people were absolutely and utterly amazing.
This tour – Royal Irish Tours, “Shamrock Royal” was a great introduction to what Ireland has to offer. Its hotels were top notch – especially the marvelous breakfasts (my favourite meal of the day) - and the high quality of any restaurant meal or included excursion we had can not be understated.
It did, though, just provide a wee taste of its delights. However high the quality of this tour was – and it was! – upon reflection I do not think that the best way to see the delights of Ireland is on a coach tour. I would recommend to do it as a 'driving holiday', renting a car and – yes, deep breath – driving on the 'wrong side' of the road – and explore at your own pace with your friends or family.
In this way you can stay right in the heart of rural Ireland. You can meet and actually engage with the Irish people – in their shops and pubs and restaurants and markets. You can set your own timetable – do wonderful walking trails, have picnics and experience its beauty in somewhat greater leisure.
Having said all this though – do not mistake me. If you do choose a coach tour then Royal Irish tours is the one to go with. And I should never have been brave enough to have – before I took this tour – ventured out with friends with our own transport. SO, thank you Royal Irish tour for introducing me to Ireland and its wonders!
I hope and pray that I have the chance to once again return to the shores of this enthralling little island and have a chance to savour it.

Enjoy the slide show below!
Many pictures will have been from the bus - so a bit blurry.
Nevertheless - they capture a few fleeting moments (in the truest sense of the word).
Also: There are A LOT I have uploaded... I recommend you click through them quickly, rather than letting them simply rotate through.

Dia Dhuit!
(God be with you.)
May your blessings out number
The Shamrocks that grow.
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go
