Town of Dingle
Town of Dingle, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland
Dingle is the only town on the Dingle Peninsula.
Very quaint.
Travel memory: When I posted a picture of Dingle on FaceBook while in Ireland (see below), a friend posted a question asking why the lines on the road were zig-zag?
Good question.
I had no idea.
Obviously neither of us thought it could be to designate driving lanes.
Now that the question was posed – I had to know.
What to do?
Well, I did the obvious. I asked Joe our guide.
He explained. Evidently it is to indicate when pedestrians can cross.
Hmmm... still seems like a very wide area, but that's what I was told.

Surely the solid lines in the picture above are for pedestrian crossing? Perhaps the zig-zag is for when not to cross?
Perhaps I misheard?
Wouldn't be the first time.
