Out & About in Dublin
The Gravediggers Ghost Tour
Okay. Sometimes things seem like a good idea at the time but end up being a bit of a dud. Such was the case here. While we expected it to be a bit silly, we hadn't expected it to be quite as lame as it was.
Too much 'theatrics'.
Too much jumping out to startle people.
Too much 'booing' and suddenly raising one's voice in the storytelling.
Not enough actual ghost stories - none of which had been told in a chilling manner.
Needs improvement.
Oh well. Still glad we went.
Not everything is going to be great and it was a fun idea to try.

Celtic Nights
Now this production was absolutely wonderful and not only met, but exceeded, our expectations. After a delicious 3 course meal there followed a 2 hour show of Irish music, song and dance.
And we were so close to the stage we had an incredible view of the Irish step dancer's feet!
Travel memory: Sharon had a "woo woo".
She thought it was a "hoo hoo".
Not kidding.
There is proof.
Lest your imaginations run wild, a "woo woo" is a drink. I've only ever heard of it in Ireland though.
Side note: Co-worker from Ireland knew exactly what one was.

Leo Burdock Fish & Chips
This was not a fancy place – but oh so, oh so, oh so – delicious that I had to include it.
And the staff was so very friendly – including the man who dresses up in a Viking costume. When we left I had forgotten my sunglasses! Quelle horror! I turned around and already the “Viking man” was in the doorway holding my sunglasses, peering into and scanning the crowd to locate me. (Thank you!)
We went to it the first night we arrived in Ireland, and ate there again on the last night we spent there.
Somehow that was fitting.
FYI - Their smoked cod was absolutely fantastic! (Portions huge.)
See the picture of the catsup? Sharon thought this packaging was so cute she had me take a picture of it.
See the picture of the "Hall of Fame" - picture may be too small for you, but if you zoom you will see that U2 ate there! My favourite band - after "The Who", that is - but all of the band members of U2 are alive, the band is still intact and performing.

Temple Bar
“Temple Bar” is both an actual pub, as well as an area in Dublin, where not surprisingly there are numerous pubs and restaurants. It is a lively area at any time of the day – or night.
The Temple Bar is Dublin's most famous pub, an iconic landmark of the city.
We could not leave Dublin without having had at least one drink there.
My choice of poison – a pint of ale.
Sharon's was ... you guess.
